South Fork Big Pine - 12/25/09

After nearly 2 months of minimal snowfall, we finally received a good dump last week. This was a classic Sierra “base building” storm, dropping nearly 5 feet of cement over the upper elevations.
Though the snowpack is still quite thin, this storm filled in just enough to make things skiable.
On Friday, Scott, Jon and I headed out to North Lake to find something to ski. Our initial plan was to go towards Piute Pass, but we didn’t make it that far. The first chute that came into view looked good, so we opted for a short day and up we went…..
